Friends of Grant Park Pool Moving Forward
by Susan Rouse

Recently, the City of Atlanta Parks and Recreation Commissioner Dianne Harnell-Cohen responded to her first viewing of www.grantparkpool.org saying “It makes you want to get out to Grant Park and get involved”. Friends of Grant Park Pool (FOGPP) feel the same and hope that you will too! There is much momentum as Friends continue working closely with the city to examine how the facility has been operating- everything from aesthetics to staffing- and to determine what changes will better serve patrons of the pool from Grant Park and the surrounding neighborhoods.

**March 2005 Friends announce Adams Realtors generous offer of support to the Grant Park Pool. For each client introduction as ‘A Friend of the Grant Park Pool’, Adams will make a cash donation to the pool project. Looking to buy or sell a home? Check out Adams!

**April 2005: Join Friends and city Parks and Rec. officials for a working session. Open to residents of Grant Park and surrounding neighborhoods. See www.grantparkpool.org for exact date and location.

**June 18,2005, Servis Juris Day where hundreds of Hands on Atlanta volunteers from the legal community will come together to improve the pool facility. Tasks will include: painting the interior and exterior of the bathhouse, staining the cement wall, repainting the pool deck with a slip-resistant surface, planting flowers, and much, much more. Look for more information on how you can get involved!
